Nursery children have been celebrating Harvest Festival alongside care home residents in Thame.
Residents at Cuttlebrook Hall welcomed the children from Roots For Life Nursery School, also based in Thame, to learn about the origins of the festival, its relevance in contemporary society, and why preserving this tradition is important, and to help the youngsters make autumnal wreaths.
Alana Corr, home manager, said: "It was fantastic to welcome children from Roots For Life Nursery School to Cuttlebrook Hall to celebrate the annual Harvest Festival tradition and explore its importance today.
“Harvest Festival is a day in the calendar where we can reflect and show gratitude for the food that we have, while serving as an opportunity to connect with others, regardless of age or background, and celebrate the cultural diversity which helps make Thame a great place to call home."
The care home also marked the annual festival by partnering with SharingLife Foodbank to set up a donation drop-off point in the home’s reception.
Ms Corr added: "At Cuttlebrook Hall, we are always looking for ways to give back and support our community and local charities.
“In these challenging times, we know many people may be struggling, and with Christmas fast approaching, it’s more important than ever to support foodbanks which provide a vital lifeline for many members of our local community."
