A major road running through a town is set to close tonight for six nights so "essential repairs" can be carried out on bridge over the A34.
The repairs to the bridge on the A4183 Oxford Road in Abingdon will start today (October 27) at 9pm.
The repairs on the bridge include "replacing the expansion joints, installing new kerbs, resurfacing and re-waterproofing".
The work is expected to continue for six nights and is due to finish at 6am on Saturday, November 2.

The road will be closed from Dunmore Road to Sugworth Lane in both directions. The A34 entry slip will be closed to traffic.
The A34 exit slip will remain open, but traffic will only be able to travel south towards Abingdon.
Residents and businesses will continue to have access to the A4183 but through traffic will not have access over the bridge.
Oxford buses will be allowed over the bridge during the daytime and diverted at night.
