The Food Standards Agency has given out 5 star ratings to five different pubs and restaurants in area Cherwell area.

The food safety inspector has awarded the popular eateries a top score to the following restaurants and pubs.

The Coach and Horses, The Green, Adderbury received five stars on October 10.

This traditional country pub on the village green is popular with locals and provides a picturesque summer spot or cosy winter hideaway.

Jenny’s Café, 87 High Street, Banbury received five stars on October 9.

Jenny’s is a favourite on Banbury high street for providing friendly service and tasty food, perfect for a weekend brunch.

The Menu Guru Ltd, Building 2 Langford Annexe, Oxford Airport, Langford Lane, Kidlington: rated five stars on October 9.

Although located by the main terminal at London Oxford Airport, the Menu Guru Ltd is open to the public – not just travellers – and serves meals, coffee, and food-to-go.

The Chequers, Northampton Road, Weston-on-the-Green was rated five stars on October 3.

With 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor The Chequers is clearly a popular country pub, with a family-friendly inn and garden.

The Dun Cow, West End, Hornton: rated five stars on September 27.
