A fast food restaurant in Oxford city centre has reopened following an emergency closure. 

As previously reported, KFC in Cornmarket Street was closed on Friday, October 18 after members of the public spotted notices in the window.

The notice said: “Really sorry...we’re closed at the moment.

“But don’t worry, we’ll be back at the fryers as soon as we can.”

After the closure, a KFC spokesperson said: “Operating responsibly is our number one priority and we have strict processes in place to ensure the quality and hygiene standards of all our restaurants.

“A potential issue was identified at our Oxford Cornmarket restaurant and so, in line with procedure, the team immediately closed to fully investigate.

“We are working to resolve this quickly and hoping to reopen our doors as soon as we can."

On Thursday, October 24 it was open as normal.
