The best places to live in Oxfordshire for 2025 have been revealed in a new study with Oxford itself being surprisingly snubbed.

A total of 10 towns and villages have made it onto the list compiled by Muddy Stilettos but there is sensationally no room for the inclusion of the famous city.

Burford features which is close to where former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has opened his new pub The Farmer’s Dog.

The picturesque Henley also is included with its stunning water views and famed Henley Regatta helping propel its popularity.

Witney and Woodstock represent West Oxfordshire with both noted in the ranking for their food options.

The closest to Oxford that the list comes is Wolvercote which is even praised for its close proximity to the major city.

“The riverside village north of Oxford has its own vibe with pubs, sports clubs and walking on the doorstep but all within a 10-minute bus ride or cycle into Oxford,” reads the piece.

Charlbury, Deddington, Goring, Kingham and Whitchurch-on-Thames comprise the remainder of the list of Oxfordshire hotspots.

Interestingly no reason is given for Oxford’s notable omission from the ranking with the general photo of Oxfordshire on the piece even featuring the city’s Radcliffe Camera.

Muddy Stilettos is described as: “A witty, useful, tastefully curated and researched insider’s guide to the very best food, walks, boutiques, day trips, hotels, interiors and events for smart, fun-loving women living outside London."
