A man has been arrested after two police officers were assaulted in Oxford.

The initial incident occurred at around 7.13am on Saturday, August 31 at Evenlode Tower in Blackbird Leys.

Officers then issued a public appeal in September asking the city’s residents for help in tracing Aaron Champion.

Thames Valley Police has now provided an update in connection with the wanted appeal for the 24-year-old.

The force has since arrested a man in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for TVP said: “Last month we published an appeal to find Aaron Champion, aged 24, in connection with two assaults on police officers on Saturday 31 August at Evenlode Tower, Blackbird Leys.

“Thames Valley Police has arrested a man in connection with the investigation and is no longer appealing for information.

“We would like to thank the public and the media for sharing our appeal and would ask this appeal is now deleted from any media and social media platforms.”
