A KFC in the heart of Oxford has suddenly shut amid an emergency closure.
The fast food restaurant located on Cornmarket Street in the city centre was closed on Friday with members of the public spotting notices in the window.
“Really sorry...we’re closed at the moment,” read the printed message.
“But don’t worry, we’ll be back at the fryers as soon as we can.”
The global brand’s Oxford chain has remained closed all weekend while its other nearby locations in Cowley Road and at the M40 Welcome Break Services have remained open.

After seeing the sudden closure, the Oxford Mail approached KFC for comment and further information.
A KFC spokesperson said: “Operating responsibly is our number one priority and we have strict processes in place to ensure the quality and hygiene standards of all our restaurants.
“A potential issue was identified at our Oxford Cornmarket restaurant and so, in line with procedure, the team immediately closed to fully investigate.
“We are working to resolve this quickly and hoping to reopen our doors as soon as we can."

The KFC branch at the M40 Welcome Break services was closed down earlier this year due to a cockroach infestation at the station.
It, along with other food businesses, was shut for weeks while the problem was dealt with as the businesses were slapped with zero-out-of-five food hygiene ratings.
