Police have arrested a second teenager following an incident in Abingdon at a school.

Armed police were seen as a 17-year-old was arrested on Wednesday afternoon. 

Thames Valley Police officers were called at about 2.45pm to reports of disorder in Wootton Road.

A 17-year-old boy from Abingdon was arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody and a second teenager from Oxford has subsequently been arrested in connection with the incident. 

This afternoon (Thursday) officers have arrested a 16-year-old boy from Oxford on suspicion of affray. He remains in police custody.

(Image: Thames Valley Police) Officers confirmed no one was injured but, following the incident, authorised a Section 60 order.

This gives officers extra powers to carry out stop and search checks, was in place throughout last night.

It covered Wootton Road, Vineyard, Oxford Road and Dunmore Road.

A spokesman for the force said: "We are continuing to appeal for anyone who may have seen the disorder yesterday afternoon or who has dash-cam, doorbell or phone footage from the area, to please get in touch.
