No date has been set for an inquest into the death of a five-year-old boy after a crash near Bicester due to an ongoing police investigation.

A crash between a Ford Focus and a KTM motorcycle on the B4011 in Blackthorn, near the junction with Thame Road, at around 2pm on April 14 took the life of young Teddy Hickman.

An inquest was opened into the young boy’s death at Oxford Coroner’s Court on April 25.

It was heard that Teddy, who was from Bicester, was pronounced dead by a paramedic at 2.18pm that day.

His medical cause of death has been provided as a severe head injury.

The rider of the motorbike, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford Focus, a woman in her 30s and a nine-year-old child, were also treated in hospital for less serious injuries.

An inquest review was held at the same court on Thursday (October 17). However, an investigating officer has advised that there is no date planned for inquest at present due to ongoing police investigation.

No arrests have been made yet and Thames Valley Police has launched an appeal for witnesses following the incident.

Teddy’s family described the young boy as ‘beautiful’ and ‘cheeky’ and several tributes were left at the scene.
