A new novel follows the work of a detective as she looks to solve the death of a Cotswold hotel guest.
'Murder at the Manor' is the sixth novel by crime and thriller writer Colin Wade.
Published on September 28, it centres on Detective Chief Inspector Chloe Taylor, who is called to the Cotswold Manor Hotel after a maid finds a dried bloodstain on the carpet.
The room has been vacated and a body is discovered in the lake on the hotel grounds.
DCI Taylor's investigation soon reveals one of her key suspects is linked to a terrorism investigation, prompting the involvement of the counter terrorism unit.
As the investigation progresses, the pair are confronted by lies and deceit, suspicious characters, and fake identities as they attempt to solve the mystery.
Mr Wade, who has been writing since 2016, takes inspiration from a 14th-century manor house in the Cotswolds.
He said: "I wanted to write another fast-paced murder mystery thriller with lots of twists and turns.
"The location of the story was inspired by a hotel we stayed at in the Cotswolds.
"As soon as I saw the facade of the 14th-century manor house and the surrounding area, I knew it was where I wanted to set my sixth novel."
Mr Wade will be running two book launch events at Witney Library on Thursday, October 24, and Abingdon Library on Thursday, November 14.
