A Downton Abbey star has been officially named among the University of Oxford's chancellor candidates.
Major-General Alastair Bruce of Crionaich OBE is a journalist and television correspondent as well as a senior British Army reservist and officer of arms in the Royal Household.
After advising the producers of popular series Downton Abbey since its inception in 2010, the star announced he would act in the upcoming third movie which wrapped filming in the summer.
Despite already holding many roles and having plenty of life experience, the 64-year-old announced his shock bid to become Oxford University’s next chancellor on Wednesday.
