The new chair of an Oxford children's hospice said the organisation's "pioneering spirit has never been more needed" as she takes up her new role, having previously been a trustee.
Helen & Douglas House, which provides care for babies and children in and around Oxfordshire, has appointed Jennie Younger as its new chair of the board of trustees.
Ms Younger, who has been a trustee since November 2022, will take over from David Gye, who had been interim chair since April and will now continue as a trustee.
She said: "It is a privilege to assume the role of chair in such an impactful and important charity.
"I would like to thank David Gye for his outstanding services and continuity as interim chair.
"At Helen & Douglas House our pioneering spirit has never been more needed.
"I look forward to working closely with the leadership and trustees as together we shape our new strategy and continue to develop and evolve the much needed services and support for children, young people, and families."
Ms Younger has 40 years of experience in senior executive positions in global organisations, specialising in strategic corporate affairs, communications, and philanthropic fundraising.
She recently retired from her role as executive director of fundraising and supporter development at King’s College London and its partner hospitals, and was made a fellow of the college in recognition of her contributions.
