After 63 years of marriage, a couple living in Oxford have renewed their wedding vows.

Josie Griffiths, 93, and Eddie Griffiths, 89, residents at Isis House care home in Iffley, celebrated the milestone as part of a special double blessing ceremony.

The occasion also included a blessing for their granddaughter, Grace Peden, and her husband, James Peden, who recently got married.

The event began with welcome drinks, followed by a blessing for Mr and Mrs Peden from the parish Catholic priest.

Mrs Peden wore her wedding dress, accompanied by her bridesmaids, sisters Olivia and Emily.

Around 40 guests attended, including Bob Shankly, HR director at BMW Group in Cowley, Oxford, where Mr and Mrs Griffiths first met in the 1950s.

Teresa, the couple's daughter, and Mrs Peden's mother, said Mrs Griffiths was unable to attend her granddaughter's wedding in Bristol.

She added: "It was a really wonderful family day, the enthusiasm of the staff in Isis House was incredible.

"My daughter had the idea to include my mum in her wedding as unfortunately she couldn’t travel on that day, so we came to her.

"It’s meant everything to us as my daughter’s wedding was the one thing my mum never forgot was happening.

"It all came together with everyone’s help and we had a very magical family day."
