Burglars broke into an Oxford property before performing a "messy search", police have said.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to the burglary which took place between 10am and 10.45am on Thursday (October 10) on Bayswater Road.

Police say the suspects gained entry into a property through a first floor window before conducting a "messy search".

Posting a statement on Thursday afternoon, the force urged anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to get in touch if they had relevant information on the incident. 

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "If you witnessed anything suspicious in the area at these times please call 101 quoting the reference number 43240487655."
