Banbury United's community team enjoyed a "great weekend" at the town's canal festival.

The football club's representatives, including community manager Ryan and commercial manager Russell, along with a group of volunteers, set out to promote their new ticket deal and community sessions, and raise awareness of the club.

The event, hosted by Banbury Town Council, took place on Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6.

It saw the canal way alongside Castle Quay transformed into a lively hub of events, displays, exhibitions, and performances.

The football club's community team said: "Overall we had a great weekend and it was great to see so many people come over to speak to us about all things Banbury United."

A highlight of their weekend was a keepy-uppy competition, which saw Ethan, who plays for one of the club's youth teams, manage 460 kick-ups.

The impressive total saw him crowned the winner of the competition and go home with a new Banbury United t-shirt.

The group had a number of items from the club shop for people to buy, and sold Banbury United lottery tickets.

They said: "We would like to say thank you to Caprinos Pizza for supporting us over the weekend as well as Banbury Town Council for hosting."

The festival also featured a variety of historical canal boats, boat tours, food and drink, and a line-up of artists providing live music.
