Wallingford Accessible Boat Club (WABC) has enjoyed its most successful year ever as it broke records for the number of voyages made and passengers carried in a single season.
The club, which helps disabled and less mobile people get out on the River Thames with its wheelyboat, WOW-one, enjoyed an "absolutely amazing" season.
Despite challenging weather and river conditions leading to 11 cancellations, it carried out 89 voyages, a 37 per cent increase from last season, while the number of passengers carried rose to 405, marking a 61 per cent increase.
Passengers ranged from one to 100-years-old and included 55 wheelchair users and 11 powerchair users.
The club's chairman, John Jenkins, said: "We are all really excited about our season’s results - they are truly amazing.
"It is clear, and very pleasing, that we are offering a service that disabled and less mobile people really want to take full advantage of.
"The pleasure and enjoyment they derive from a trip on our lovely river says it all and without Wallingford Accessible Boat Club they would forfeit all that.
"And it’s all down to our volunteers who make it happen - it is remarkable how much a determined, flexible, caring group can achieve, and enjoy doing so, helping so many."
The club is hoping to break records again next year, with a planned move to Riverside Moorings in central Wallingford expected to help it reach more people.
