When the full service is running, trains will run every half hour through the day, taking under 45 minutes for the full journey stopping at Bletchley, Winslow, Bicester Village and Oxford Parkway.
The project by Network Rail will provide the first direct rail link in more than 50 years between Oxford and Milton Keynes, which will "transform connectivity and journey times for people and businesses across the heart of the country".
Network Rail claims it will boost economic growth and create opportunities for new housing and jobs, encourage people out of cars and onto public transport and provide a greener low carbon transport system.
