Firefighters testing electric blankets in Wantage found almost 100 failing safety tests.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, which has been testing blankets ahead of winter, carried out its lasting testing day for the year this weekend at Wantage Fire Station.
They tested blankets, overthrows and heart pads and found that a total of 89 failed the safety tests.

Writing about the tests online, firefighters said: "Again we have plenty of bookings but will happily take any walk ins.
"We have our partners Age UK Oxfordshire Oxford City Council. Yesterday saw a variety of blankets, overthrows and heat pads totalling 89 being tested with the failure rate below the national average at just 31 per cent."
