New bollards have been installed near LTN traffic filters in Oxford after concerns about vehicles 'squeezing through dangerously', a councillor has said.
A Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) is an area in which filtered permeability and traffic calming are deployed to reduce motorised through-traffic in residential areas
LTNs were introduced in east Oxford in May 2022 and have prompted protests, with bollards run over, burned and stolen.

Due to small cars squeezing dangerously through the gaps and driving over the pavements, a number of new bollards have been installed on one filter in my LTN.

Green party councillor Emily Kerr, who represents St Mary's Ward, announced online that new bollards have been installed near an LTN in her area due to vehicles 'squeezing dangerously' past.
On X, she wrote: "Due to small cars squeezing dangerously through the gaps and driving over the pavements, a number of new bollards have been installed on one filter in my LTN.
"No more messing around, this junction has gone from one to five bollards and is now safe."
