It was the year when Mr Bean actor Rowan Atkinson visited Blackwell's for a book signing - with lots of smiling fans queuing up.
And Oxford East MP Andrew Smith was celebrating re-election as a Labour MP after his first five years in office.

Aunt Sally was a popular game at the Globe pub in Jericho, which shut around 2005.
Listed as one of 25 pubs and ale houses in Jericho in 1870, it was demolished and rebuilt in the 1930s.
Until 1999 it was owned by Morrells Brewery. Then it passed to a new company, Morrells of Oxford.
Mr Atkinson is a familiar face in Oxfordshire after buying a 1930s mansion and its 16 acres of land in Ipsden, for £2.6m in 2006.
Earlier this year it was announced he has signed up to star in the fourth instalment of the Johnny English franchise, with filming due to start this summer.
