Police in Oxford have revealed why a patrol car raced to a supermarket store in the city.
A Thames Valley Police car with its blue lights on was spotted outside the Coop shop on Iffley Road at around 2.35pm on Wednesday, October 2.
The reason for its presence was unknown at the time but the force revealed on Thursday that the car had been called out to a literal false alarm at the store.
A spokesperson for TVP said: “It was a response to an alarm being activated at the Co-operative Store.

“It was initially thought to be an intruder alarm, but turned out to be a smoke alarm, which ended up being a false alarm, so we left the scene.”
