A road leading to a major bridge in Oxford is set to reopen this weekend, despite the work already being finished.
Weirs Lane was closed on September 17 for what was initially described as a 24 hour closure for an emergency gas main replacement.

A spokesman for SGN, which is responsible for the works, said: “We have now completed our replacement work on Weirs Lane and reinstatement of the road will begin shortly. All being well, the road should reopen before this weekend and will reopen sooner if it is safe to do so.
“We were working to replace our old metal gas mains in Weirs Lane, Oxford with new plastic pipe as part of our 30-year replacement programme.”
