A secluded retreat with outdoor bathtubs sitting high in the trees has opened in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds this month.

TreeDwellers has welcomed the first guests at a new site in the 1,700-acre ancient woodland of Cornbury Park near Charlbury.

The seven architecturally different treehouses have been designed to blend seamlessly with the natural environment.

Each treehouse is encased in timber, copper and glass to fit in with the organic curves of the surroundings.

Elevated three metres above the forest floor, they have fully equipped kitchens, cosy living areas with wood-burning stoves, and one or two kingsize bedrooms.

Each one has a freestanding bathtub  as well as cutting-edge Sonos surround sound systems, and a tablet provided for guest services.

Wraparound windows and a large deck provide an excellent platform for viewing the five species of deer living in this woodland.

Several walking routes extend from the site, with nearby country pubs serving warming roasts.

TreeDwellers founder and CEO Tim Rees said: “I am over the moon to welcome the first guests to TreeDwellers.

“It’s been a long journey to bring this vision into reality and I am thrilled to share this extremely special place with our guests.

"The woodland has long been a sanctuary for me, and I am confident our guests will leave feeling relaxed, restored, and inspired.”

The retreat also houses the UK's first nine-metre, twin-coned Forest Megaphone.

The wooden structure has been hand-crafted to amplify the sounds of the forest, turning up the volume of the sounds of nature.

The property also includes a yoga platform and pagoda which can be booked for woodland weddings and there is an on-site shop and concierge team.
