Blenheim Palace is set to welcome author Clare Mackintosh for a launch event following the release of her new book about grief.
The book, 'I Promise It Won’t Always Hurt Like This', was released in March and offers a guide to navigating grief, drawing from Ms Mackintosh's personal experiences of losing her young son and father.
The book "provides an accessible roadmap for those grieving whilst looking for compassion, understanding and hope".
The launch event will be held in the palace's newly restored Orangery on Monday, October 21, from 6pm to 9pm.
Tickets, priced at £15, include nibbles and Prosecco, and all proceeds will go to Silver Star, an Oxford-based maternity service charity of which Ms Mackintosh is a patron.
The charity supports mothers and their families at the Women's Centre, and funds research into complicated pregnancies.
The book will be available for purchase at the event, with the chance to have it signed by Ms Mackintosh.
After beginning her career in the police force, Ms Mackintosh has written bestselling novels including 'I Let You Go' and 'After the End'.
Her newest book is aimed at anyone who has struggled or is currently impacted by grief, and she said it is the book she needed when she was experiencing the loss of her loved ones and navigating grief herself.
