Oxford University has been beaten by Bristol and Manchester in new rankings.
PR agency Lem-uhn has crunched the numbers to reveal that Oxford is one of the universities leading the way in post-graduate job prospects but several others placed higher.
The University of Cambridge has been declared the top-ranking university in the UK for the most job opportunities with 13.7 job ads per thousand people.
Using official QS rankings and analysing Indeed job ad figures in each university city, the research has found that, unsurprisingly, London has the highest number of job advertisements in the UK.

But despite London being home to four of the top 10 UK universities, the capital city offers the least job opportunities, with 2.8 job ads per thousand people.
Oxford was ranked fourth in the list with 6.2 ads per thousand people while Manchester came in second place, with 9.1 followed by Bristol with 8.5.
Riannon Palmer, Founder and Managing Director of Lem-uhn comments: “From an employer's perspective, choosing a university city with an array of job opportunities is a smart move for students eager to jumpstart their careers.
“Cities like Cambridge, where demand for fresh talent is high, offer graduates a great head start.

“Choosing a university based on the location’s career opportunities, however, is certainly not the be-all and end-all.
“As remote work becomes ever more popular, graduates can now access a plethora of job opportunities from anywhere, giving them greater flexibility to choose the university experience and education they want, without being tied to a specific job market.”
