A record was broken at a walk in Wallingford in support of a breast cancer charity.

On Sunday, September 15, all participants in the Breast Walk Ever Oxfordshire completed their journey by 5.45pm, the earliest time ever.

They were welcomed back to the finish line with medals, fizz, and massages for those who wanted them.

Participants were full of praise for the event, with one saying: "I’m so glad I took part. I was humbled by all those people we passed whilst walking who shared their own stories, cheered us on and who gave a donation.

"I don’t have a cancer story but I truly loved being part of the walk with such inspiring people. I wanted to walk, wanted to give and wanted to be with a group of like-minded people.

"It was a lovely afternoon and I felt a part of something ‘bigger’."

"The weather could not have been better, with all walks starting and finishing in light winds and bright sunshine.

"The amount raised will make such a difference into our ongoing research into secondary spread breast cancer."

The Breast Walk series for 2025 is already being planned, with the Hampshire walk confirmed for June 8.
