An Oxfordshire woman has been named Community Leader of the Year at the Digital Women Awards.

Claire Waite-Brown, who lives just outside Oxford, is the founder of the Creativity Found Collective and was recognised for her efforts in building a supportive community for artists and crafters.

The collective was inspired by her podcast, Creativity Found, which sees her chat to people who have found or re-found their creativity in adulthood.

It is aimed at connecting adults who want to take up creative activities with artists and crafters who can guide them, and also aims to connect small businesses in the arts and crafts sector with potential students, collaborators, and resources to help them grow.

The judges said: "Claire's efforts in creating the Creativity Found Collective have provided artists and crafters with a supportive community and valuable resources.

"Her dedication to promoting creativity and supporting small businesses has made a positive impact on the creative industry."

The Digital Women Awards are open to women working in digital industries and entrepreneurship.

Lucy Hall, founder of Digital Women and director at Skills of the Future Ltd, said: "We are excited to celebrate the incredible women who are going above and beyond, doing truly amazing things in the digital space.

"I’m so glad we get to acknowledge these fantastic achievements from our community and beyond at the Digital Women Awards 2024."
