A doctor's surgery in Oxfordshire has been forced to close due to damage caused by flooding. 

Woodstock Surgery made the announcement this morning (September 23) after being advised by the fire service to close.

This comes as flooding causes widespread disruption across the county with a number of schools closed and bus services diverted. 

A statement posted on the surgery's Facebook page said: "We are currently closed due to flooding.

"The fire brigade have attended site. They have advised that the building is unsafe for patients and this is necessary until the damage has been assessed.

"If you need urgent medical advice, please contact NHS 111.

"Please call 999 if you have a life-threatening emergency.

"We will provide an update as soon as we can and apologise for any inconvenience."
