A luxury Italian riverside restaurant nestled in an Oxfordshire village requires 'major improvement', according to inspectors.
Don Giovanni at The Leatherne Bottel on Bridle Way in Goring, south of Wallingford, claims it has brought the Amalfi Coast to Oxfordshire.
With a 150 cover al fresco dining area and an inside restaurant, bosses say customers have access to an all-year-round venue.
The menu consists of pasta dishes which are available for around £20 while starters are priced around £15.

Following a hygiene inspection on Saturday, August 14 by South Oxfordshire District Council, the restaurant was handed a damning one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
The management of food safety was outlined as the major problem with 'major improvement' deemed necessary.
This refers to having a system or checks in place to ensure that the food sold or served is safe to eat as well as if there is evidence that staff know about food safety.
It also concerns whether or not the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future.
The cleanliness and condition of facilities and building also raised concerns with the report stating that improvement was “necessary”.

This includes having an appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene.
There were no issues with the restaurant’s hygienic handling of food which was deemed as 'generally satisfactory' by inspectors on the day.
This refers to the preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage of food.
