This sponsored knit-in attracted 97 girls - and one brave boy.
Kevin Perkins joined an army of Girl Guides and Brownies at the six-hour event at the Church Centre in Kidlington in 1971.
The eight-year-old is seen with fellow knitters, left to right, Kaye Bunce, eight, Sally Beck, nine, Susan Beck, 10, and Nicola Sambrook, eight.

The whole group were sponsored for each four-inch square they knitted and £140 was raised, £40 more than at a similar event the previous year.
The money went towards the £3,000 needed to pay for new Guide headquarters. Land for the building had been bought off Green Road, Kidlington, and planning permission had already been given.
The knitted squares were later made into blankets and distributed to the elderly in the village in time for winter.
