A jail sentence has been handed to a man who was found guilty of assault by beating of a woman in Oxford.
Binyam Solomon, 28, was on trial at Oxford Crown Court for two counts of assault by beating last week.
The offence allegedly took place across July and August last year at an address in Oxford against a woman we have decided not to name.

Solomon, who denied the offences, was accused of hitting the woman with rosary beads after she refused to ‘pray away the demons’.
He was found guilty of one count and not guilty of the second by a 12-strong jury.
Solomon was sentenced at the end of last week to 12 months imprisonment.
