An autumnal post box topper has been knitted to help fund the ongoing maintenance of a woodland in Oxfordshire.
The topper was created to raise funds for the maintenance of Island Pond Wood in Launton near Bicester by one of the newer village members who wished to remain anonymous.
Rob Dowman, chair of community group Friends of Island Pond Wood, said: “We’re delighted as volunteers, it’s something someone wanted to do to give their bit.
“It's a brilliant community feel that people are trying to look after what we've got.

“We are really please and really thankful for her."
Friends of Island Pond Wood is an ongoing maintenance and regeneration project for the woodland that started in 1999.
The group hosts events each year and encourages villagers to become members for £10 a year to help fund the general upkeep of the pond.
The group started when a tree was planted 25 years ago, when the woodland was just a field, and on Saturday (September 21) from 1pm until 5pm the group are hosting an event to celebrate the anniversary.
