Police have arrested a man who was wanted for failing to appear at court following alleged shoplifting offences in Oxfordshire.

He has been remanded in police custody and will appear at the next available court, Thames Valley Police Cherwell said in a statement on Monday afternoon.
An arrest warrant can be issued by a judge or court when a defendant fails to appear at a scheduled court hearing.
It gives police the authority to detain the defendant and bring him to court to address the issue.
