An historic Grade-II listed building in Oxford city centre home to a prime coffee shop, offices and a dentist is up for sale.

The premises at 130 High Street will go up for auction later this month with a guided price of £1.2m at the latest Acuitus auction.

It is one of the oldest buildings on the High Street and was built in the late 15th century as a shop and home for former mayor of Oxford, William Boswell.

The unit was later operated as a fish shop, brush manufacturer, cigar importer, and tobacconists, before the freehold was acquired by Oxford City Council in 1927, where it remains today.

Located in the heart of Oxford’s retail centre, the fully-let Grade-II listed property comprising of a coffee shop, dentist, healthcare offices, and a studio for antique musical instruments.

The 2,458 square foot property, which is held on a long leasehold for a term of 125 years from 2002 from Oxford City Council, produces an annual rental income of £89,000.

David Margolis of Acuitus said: “It is not often that a prime piece of historic Oxford’s High Street comes to the auction market.

"The history, coupled with the recently renewed leases by the tenants, should all contribute to a competitive bidding process come the auction.”

The Acuitus auction will take place on Wednesday, September 25th at 1pm.
