An Oxford holiday cottage has won one of the industry's biggest awards claiming the Visit England 5 Star Gold Award.

Greyfriars Hideway is described as an "exclusive luxury 5 Star Gold destination" that is set in "two historic luxury self-catering properties."

Set in Oxford City Centre, the two holiday cottages can sleep up to 12 adults and according to the owners guests can choose the options of self-catering or "opt for a full concierge service with private chef, waiting staff and daily housekeeping."

Greyfriars Hideway adds that they are proud of their "name in the travel industry for exclusive luxury self-catering accommodation."

On Google Reviews, the property has a ranking of 4.9/5 with one guest sharing: "We could not have chosen a better venue - absolutely fantastic.

"Each floor with a large bedroom and bathroom, changing room with a large walk-in shower was perfect for getting ready for a wedding.

"The rest of the house was well kitted out and the garden, considering next to Westgate was secluded and quiet."

Another fan added: "Greyfriars was the perfect choice for our stay in Oxford, convenient for the centre but nicely tucked away.  The well-equipped kitchen made self-catering easy and the bedrooms were spacious and nicely appointed."

Visit England 5 Star Gold Award were created to honour 100 outstanding accommodation providers across the UK.

The awards celebrate establishments known for their exceptionally warm welcomes and memorable guest experiences, regardless of their star rating, accommodation style, or type.

Discussing the awards, VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes said: "The ROSE Awards recognise the accommodation providers in England who deliver a fantastic welcome, provide outstanding customer service and make magical memories for their visitors.
