A man has been arrested after alleged threats to kill and possession of a weapon saw police close an Oxford road.
The incident occurred at around 1pm today (Wednesday, September 11) as police raced to Wood Farm Road near the Headington area.
A 45-year-old man from Oxford was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, threats to kill and arson.
Thames Valley Police says that the suspect remains in police custody at this stage.

A spokesperson for the force said: "At around 1pm this afternoon (Wednesday, September 11) Thames Valley Police received reports of threats to kill on Wood Farm Road, Oxford.
"Officers attended the scene and a 45-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, threats to kill and arson.
"He remains in police custody at this stage.
"The road has now been re-opened."
The road was closed by officers while the arrest was made with bus services temporarily diverted before the street was reopened shortly afterwards.

Local business owners said that they were unaware of anything happening despite the road closure with no vehicles allowed near the area.
A police car could be spotted on the street while one officer could be seen inside one of the houses on the road before the force left the scene.
