Jeremy Clarkson and James May have been spotted eating a meal together before the last-ever Grand Tour episode.

The pair along with Richard Hammond have worked together for 22 years on TV hits Top Gear and The Grand Tour but will call time after this week’s special.

Filmed in Zimbabwe, the final episode will be available to stream on Prime Video from Friday, September 13 onwards.

Ahead of the big occasion, the cast was tasked with conducting TV interviews throughout Tuesday with the trio present.

Mr Clarkson had an Italian lunch with James May with the latter eating some penne pasta but disaster struck as Mr May spilt the pasta on himself.

Posting a photograph of his friend with a stained shirt on Instagram on Tuesday, Mr Clarkson said: “A day of TV interviews for the last Grand Tour and he’s spilt food onto himself.”

The 64-year-old said he felt “surprisingly unemotional” when he filmed the final episode.

“I’m not saying this in a derogatory way by any means but James has the emotions of a stone,” he revealed.

“He just doesn’t do emotions, so there were no tears from him. Hammond, yes.

“I was surprisingly unemotional in a weird way because I can see James and Hammond any time I want to, they’re only a phone call away, and I’m sure we will.

“And I’ve done enough of the travel, I was worn out by it.”
