At d’Overbroeck’s school in Oxford, we create extraordinary futures.

Our world-class teachers will embrace your child’s unique talents and empower them to believe they can become whoever they want to be.

The result? Confident, highly motivated young people who succeed academically, flourish as individuals, and go on to pursue their passions at university and beyond.

At d’Overbroeck’s, each student’s individuality is celebrated to help them discover their authentic identities and foster their dreams and aspirations. Happy, doing what they love, and with a real sense of purpose, your child will thrive as a person, achieve academic success, and be supported to pursue their passions at university and beyond.

Mutual respect and good humour lie at the heart of the school’s ethos. Embracing self-expression; students and teachers call one another by their first names, and prioritise comfort over formality by replacing uniform with clothes that they feel most comfortable in.

This ethos, celebrated by students and parents, melds student independence of creative expression with academic rigour and excellence as students are encouraged to listen with respect to one another’s experiences and opinions. This unique culture at the school, promotes meaningful and powerful connections between students and staff creating life-long friendships and solid relationships with their personal tutors and staff.

At d’Overbroeck’s, we value the distinctiveness of every young person, with each student presented a range of support around their specific needs. Led by a dedicated Director of Pastoral Care and Wellbeing, working closely with parents, guardians, and supported by a wide-ranging pastoral team across the school, including counsellors, student mentors, Directors of Study, the school nurse, and boarding staff, we create a 'team' surrounding each student, to be there to listen to and support where needed.

Their worldclass and inspirational teachers and pastoral support programme, will empower your child to believe in themselves, creating confident, curious, and independent young people.

With a delightful Senior School for years 7-11, a lively International School with students from all over the world, and a dedicated Sixth Form centre offering day, weekly and full boarding, the school is set across four teaching sites around North Oxford. This central location, gives students the advantages of enjoying everything Oxford has to offer, including access to museums, galleries and theatres as well as the wonderful architecture and green parks, with regular excursions all part of our extra – curricular programme.

We are consistently featured in the Top 100 performing schools in the country, and typically we see around a quarter of our students achieve A* at A-level, with over half receiving A*/A grades.

Every year our students receive offers at leading universities. Top destinations of students typically include UCL, Kings, Manchester, Bristol and LSE, as well as students gaining places on some of the most competitive course at universities such as Oxford and Cambridge. Others include overseas universities such as California Institute of Technology.

International collaborations with The Juilliard School in New York and Massachusetts Institute of Technology provide incredible professional development opportunities for teachers, who in turn provide outstanding performing arts and STEAM opportunities for students in d’Overbroeck’s.

The school has recently been recognised as a Microsoft Showcase School, one of 78 in the UK and one of 600 globally. This award highlights a commitment to “create student-centred, immersive, and inclusive experiences that inspire lifelong learning, stimulating development of essential future-ready skills so students are empowered to achieve more”.

Patrick Horne, Principal of d’Overbroeck’s, comments:

“d’Overbroeck’s encourages students to aim for the highest academic outcomes, and it does this through outstanding teaching and a nurturing approach which enables students to excel in all areas. The range of academic and extra-curricular opportunities means that students thrive and receive the very best preparation to go on to even further success at university and beyond.

Above all, we value the individual, and students have their own personal tutor who guides and supports them throughout their journey with us. Each student is encouraged to follow the pathway that leads them to their greatest success, both in their studies and in their own personal development. Our students grow up to be confident and successful, whilst also demonstrating the integrity and compassion to make a positive difference to the world around them”.

There is a comprehensive public bus network covering the city and surrounding areas, and we also offer a dedicated bus service for d’Overbroeck’s students travelling in from southeast Oxfordshire.
