A new pizza takeaway in Abingdon is aiming to eat into the profits of rivals Domino's on the other side of the street.

Tumazo Pizza opened in Ock Street in July in a unit previously occupied by the Pizza Hut chain.

Now staff at the new takeaway are busy with customers and are hopeful that there are enough orders for both them and Domino's.

Manager Zubair Ahmed said: "We are now very busy and we have special offers throughout the week, including 50 per cent off on a Monday, and Tuesday buy-one-get-one-free.

"Our dough is freshly made on the premises - the pizzas are delicious.

"Orders are coming in from all over town."

Mr Ahmed said the takeaway's 18-inch pizza - its largest option - was proving popular with students and families.

Domino's has been in Ock Street for many years.

Caprinos opened a pizza takeaway in Northcourt Road near the Co-op store three years ago.
