POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched in the face and had his car keys stolen in Oxfordshire.

The incident happened at about 10.50am on Saturday (September 7) on the A7074 Golden Balls roundabout in Nuneham Courtenay.

Police state the offender was driving a white Peugeot van, which he stopped in the middle of the road.

He then approached the victim, a 40-year-old man, who was driving behind him. The offender then punched the victim in the face before taking his car keys and fleeing the scene.

The offender has been described as a 'white middle-aged man, about 5ft 6ins tall with a medium build'.

He was wearing blue jeans and a light coloured top.

The victim received minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.

Investigating officer PC Faain Dewan, based at Abingdon police station, said: “This was a concerning incident which resulted in the victim being assaulted and then having his car keys stolen while he was driving.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who saw this, or who has any dash-cam footage of the incident to come forward as soon as possible.
