To celebrate National Dog Day, a Chipping Norton care home welcomed some canine companions into the home.
Southerndown Care Home's residents and staff held a virtual dog show on August 26 with pictures of their own pet dogs and ones owned by family and friends.
Residents learned about different breeds and shared stories about their pets.
National Dog Day, an annual event, aims to raise awareness of the number of dogs in rescue centres and to encourage people to adopt dogs from shelters.
The care home’s general manager, Arlene Acuavera, said: "Our residents love animals and lots of them have owned dogs in the past so it was lovely to hear their stories about the different things their dogs had got up to."
One resident, Philippa, added: "I have always had a dog, we had them when I was growing up and they are such good company, I love how funny and loyal they are.
"We have had such a nice day remembering all the dogs we have known and loved. They are all such characters."
Southerndown Care Home, managed by Barchester Healthcare, offers nursing care, residential care, and respite care.
It offers a life enrichment programme which aims to keep residents active, and provides a daily choice of physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to their interests and abilities.
