The Met Office said: "Heavy rain may lead to some travel disruption and flooding in places across southern England and southern Wales during Friday."
It also warned that "spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures".
This comes after the UK saw the coolest summer since 2015, bucking a trend of warm summers in recent years, according to provisional statistics.
