FIVE teenagers have been arrested after two people were assaulted in Didcot leaving two in hospital.

The incident happened at about 11.30pm on Friday, August 30.

The victims, a man in his teens and a woman in her 20s, were assaulted by a group of young adults in Didcot Market Place.

A mobile phone and a watch were stolen and the two victims sustained head injuries and required hospital treatment.

They have both since been discharged.

A 17-year-old boy from Didcot was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon, an 18-year-old woman from Didcot was arrested on suspicion of robbery and criminal damage, and a 16-year-old girl, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, all from Didcot, were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

All of them have since been released on police bail.

Investigating Office Detective Constable Nicola Lamb said: “This was a concerning incident where the victims were subjected to an assault and robbery.
