A Bicester group welcomed a charity for a talk on domestic abuse recently.

The Foxy Ladies Women's Institute group hosted Emma Teasdale from Reducing The Risk, a charity working with other agencies, including the police, to tackle domestic abuse of both women and men across Oxfordshire.

Police community support officers Alison Drury and Sophie Pearce from the Bicester Neighbourhood Policing Team were in attendance to show their support.

One of Reducing The Risk's key initiatives is their Friends scheme, which anyone can sign up for by emailing friends@reducingtherisk.org.uk.

As a 'friend' of Reducing The Risk, people can support someone experiencing domestic abuse by "listening, linking, and lending a hand".

For advice on dealing with domestic abuse, or how to support someone who may be suffering abuse, visit Reducing The Risk's website.

As well as supporting adults and children suffering from abuse, the charity works to empower professionals and volunteers who support victims.
