Thames Valley Police has provided an update after a man was "found with stab wounds" in Banbury town centre at the weekend.

Police officers were called to the junction of Butchers Row and the High Street in Banbury at 12.20am on Sunday (September 1).

Thames Valley Police said a man in his 20s was "found with stab wounds" and was taken to hospital, where he remained in a "stable condition".

The force has today (September 3) confirmed the arrested man has been released on police bail until November 25.

The force is urging anyone with information to leave information via the Thames Valley Police website or to call them on 101, quoting the investigation number 43240419312.
