Castle Quay Shopping Centre in Banbury is set to celebrate its 50th birthday later this month.

On September 14, between 11am and 3pm, the centre will host a variety of castle-themed activities.

A castle themed set will be installed outside WH Smith with stocks, castle turrets, and a dragon prop.

Visitors can wear regal costumes at the dress-up station or challenge each other at the three chess tables set up for the event.

Children can design their own shields at an arts and crafts station, and face painters will also be at the centre.

A balloon modeller will be creating castle themed balloon art throughout the day for visitors to take home and Cakebox are creating a cake, decorated with an image of the centre from 50 years ago.

Visitors can also take part in a castle themed trail around the centre's stores with a chance to win a £50 Pizza Express gift card.

Centre director at Castle Quay, Oliver Wren, said: "We’re incredibly excited to celebrate 50 years of serving our community with a day full of castle-themed family fun and entertainment.

"Reaching this milestone is a testament to the continued support of our visitors, and we wanted to create an event that local families could enjoy.

"This celebration is our way of saying thank you to the generations of families who have made Castle Quay a special part of their lives over the years."
