A THIEF has avoided jail after stealing more than £4,000 worth of money bags from a petrol station where he worked in Bicester.
Francis Christopherson, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to one count of theft by an employee which took place between July 3 and July 5, 2023.
The 33-year-old, who worked at the Applegreen Petrol Station in Banbury Road, stole three money bags to the value of £1,665, £1,365 and £1,220.

He also stole £100 worth of cigarettes and £282 worth of scratch cards.
The total value of everything stolen was £4,632.
At Oxford Magistrates’ Court on August 14, he was handed a community order to complete six months of mental health treatment, 20 rehabilitation activity days and 80 hours of unpaid work.
He was ordered to pay £1,000 in compensation.
