Wantage traders enjoyed selling their goods at the town's Saturday market.

The market place has been used for hundreds of years by local traders and the strong tradition continues.

The Saturday market runs from 8am to 2pm and on Saturday featured traders including The Heritage Bakery, Nesso Gifts selling handmade soaps, Sweet Daisy Coffee Van, Greek Delicatessen, Kombucha, and stalls selling flowers, menswear, eggs and honey and fruit and veg.

Debbie Reiber of Kombucha, and Nichola Marner of The Heritage Bakery were among traders welcoming shoppers on Saturday.

Wantage town centre manager Andrea Yates said earlier: "Markets have been held in Wantage since 1246. It’s a long standing tradition that we are very proud of.

"Two of our traders have been coming to Wantage for over 30 years. Mam’s Menswear (Saturdays) and Joe from Aylesbury Fisheries (Wednesdays).

"We like to encourage local small businesses to attend, made up by local people who are crafting and creating in their homes or home workshops.  Some even go on to having their own shop like Crystal Jak who now has a beautiful shop in the Arbery Arcade." -
