A man was approached by five males and threatened with a knife in an attempted mugging.
The victim was walking home in the early hours when he was approached by the gang, threatened with the weapon and told to hand over his phone in Abingdon.
He managed to push the suspect with the knife out of the way and run home.
The attempted robbery happened at the junction of Bath Street and Fitzharrys Road at around 3.10am today (Saturday, August 31).
One suspect is described as a Black male, 17-18-years-old, between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall with a slim build and very short black hair, possibly shaved.
Police say he is clean shaven with a slit in one of his eyebrows, possibly the left one.

He was wearing a dark long-sleeved sweatshirt with no hood and dark tracksuit bottoms that sat quite low.
The second suspect is a white male, around 17-18 years old, approximately 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in, of skinny build with dirty blonde, messy hair down to his eyebrows, and a skin fade on the back and sides. He has dark facial hair on his chin only.
He was wearing a light grey zip-up hoodie with a black zip, possibly a Nike Tech fleece, with matching skinny tracksuit bottoms and dark trainers.
Police also say he wore a dark coloured shoulder bag over his right shoulder.
The other three males were described as one black male and two white males, all wearing similar style dark clothing and of similar heights.
One of the white males was wearing dark gloves.
