Children across the county have the chance to make their dream play area a reality through a competition.

Milton housebuilder Redrow South West is looking to appoint a Junior Head of Play for a second year.

The competition invites children aged seven to 14 who live at a Redrow development in Oxfordshire to design a play area.

The Head of Play will assist Kevin Parker, the group masterplanning director at Redrow, in making choices about playground equipment and will also receive £250 in vouchers.

They will also film at their Redrow development, appearing on Redrow's social media channels and showcasing their dream play area, which will be implemented in future Redrow developments in Oxfordshire.

Last year's winners, Willow and Indy, said: "We can't wait to have another Junior Head of Play come and join us to help children like us get out and play this summer."

Sian Smith, who will work with the new Junior Head of Play, added: "Redrow is thrilled to initiate a countrywide contest, seeking children’s creative ideas for our playgrounds.

"We aim to listen to the young users of these spaces, enhancing and crafting friendly play areas for future enjoyment."

The competition opened on August 20 and will close on September 16.

Parents can put forward their child by emailing redrowteam@redconsultancy.com with an image of the designed dream play area and a biography including which Redrow development they live on.
